iQmetrix Powers Retailers to Achieve Successful 2015 Black Friday Results

With Black Friday 2015 now in our rear view mirror, it’s time to look at the results!

According to Shoppertrak, Black Friday sales in the U.S. were down 10% this year compared to 2014. Although the research firm attributes a few reasons for the decline to fewer store hours and a later Hanukah, the mega shopping day was largely seen as a success for iQmetrix’s retail clients.

2015s Black Friday saw 437,717 invoices processed through iQmetrix’s POS, up 41.3% from last year. The total number of items purchased, as well as the number of items purchased per employee, were also up 31.8% and 9% respectively.

This year we also introduced a new payment API – a platform service that handles authorization of integrated payment transactions. Through this payment gateway, retailers processed $14,653,909 in credit and debit card sales. Total sales processed reached $100,641,850.

Additionally, with this being the first Black Friday since EMV was introduced in the U.S. on October 1, we’ll be able to start comparing the growth in EMV transactions over the coming years. For 2015, iQmetrix retailers processed 1,826 EMV transactions, which amounts to 27% of EMV transactions at iQmetrix EMV-enabled locations.

Congratulations to all our clients and partners on another successful Black Friday!
