   *-- iQmetrix Releases Sales Statistics from the Independent Wireless Retail Industry --*

VANCOUVER, BC – Jan. 12, 2012 – iQmetrix, the leading provider of retail management software for the North American wireless industry, today released statistics on consumers’ mobile phone purchasing trends for December 2011.

iQmetrix sampled data from over 1,000 independent wireless retailers across North America reporting that Android phones comprised 36.8 percent of total phones sold, up from 30.5 percent over December 2010.

While Android phone sales increased year over year by 20.8 percent, iPhone sales remain constant, making up 30.2 percent of total phones sold in December 2011 versus 30.1 percent in 2010.

Holiday shoppers also bought more expensive phones in 2011. The average listed price per phone sold in December 2011 was $386, up from $309 in December 2010 indicating that on average, consumers spent 24.9 percent more per phone in December 2011 than they did in December 2010.
