During Black Friday week (Tue., Nov. 26th through Sun., Dec. 1st) sales of phones with the Android operating system led Apple iOS phones by more than two and a half times, with market shares of 68% and 27% respectively. While iPhones are the darling of media coverage, Android clearly dominates the smartphone market. Windows phones took 5%, up from 1% the year before. The leading manufacturers were Samsung at 39%, Apple at 27% and LG at 13%. The top phone models were the iPhone 5s at 14%, Samsung Galaxy S4 at 10% and LG G2 at 8%. Source: iQmetrix.
