BI Tips: Using Member Properties
In your BI environment there are many data-points that may not be displayed out in the open.
Member properties are hidden within the member they relate to. These properties can then be used within your report as a calculated member.
How do I find them?
Navigate to the lowest level where the members displayed. This is normally represented by a single dot. (Examples below.)
Expand the folder named “Member Properties.”
How do I use these in my report?
- Create a new calculated member.
- In the “Meta Data” section, navigate to the member property you want to use.
- Double-click on that property. The system will auto-populate the needed syntax.
- Click OK.
- Simple as that!
