BI Tips: Importing External Datasets

In Report Builder, you can use the import tool to use datasets that you’ve previously created! This can save you lots of time when creating similar reports. No need to re-invent the wheel when you can import the wheel. :)
Steps:
If you’re using one of our Report Builder Templates:
- Choose the template you would like to use, and select “Edit in Report Builder” from the drop-down menu.
- Right-click on the dataset “Main” > Dataset Properties.
- Click on “Import” in the bottom-right corner (Image 1).
- Select the report that contains the dataset you would like to reuse (Image 1).
- Choose the dataset you would like to import and click “Import” (Image 2).
- From here, you can either click “OK” if you’re done or on “Query Designer” if you’d like to make further edits to the query.
If you’re starting from a blank report:
- In Report Builder, right-click on the “Datasets” folder > Add Dataset.
