The end of each year, while a time to reminisce and celebrate, is also a time to start planning for what’s next. What better way to start 2018 off with a bang than by attending one of the largest conferences on consumer technologies. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) brings over 170,000+ industry professionals from 150+ countries for a week of learning and networking. Here are 3 (of the many) reasons that you should make sure that CES is on your tradeshow list for 2018.
1. Kick the year off right by learning what’s going to be big in 2018
When planning for 2018, it’s good to get an understanding of what will be going on in the industry. Since CES is such a massive show, spread across multiple hotels in Las Vegas, they have 15 conference tracks on a variety of topics running over five days. Interested in future technologies? Looking to learn more about IoT? The Scalable IoT Platforms and M2M Connectivity track is likely for you. CES truly does have something for everyone. Check out a full list of conference tracks at CES here.
iQmetrix’s very own Tabitha Creighton will be speaking at 2 different conference tracks at this year’s CES.
- To learn about the latest in payments technology and trends don’t miss Tabitha speak on The Future of Blockchain panel on Tuesday, January 9th at 3:30 p.m. at the Digital Money Forum.
- On Thursday, January 11th at 2:40 p.m. Tabitha will be on the Selling High Tech with High Tech panel at the High-Tech Retailing Summit. This panel will focus on how “Going Digital” is important for all retailers.
2. Checking out the newest (and coolest!) tech
CES is spread across 11 venues on the Las Vegas strip with over 2.5 million net square feet of exhibit space. Thinking about the whole show can be quite intimidating; it’s best to head into CES with a game plan. Luckily, CES breaks out their show floor into three distinct geographical areas: Tech East, Tech West, and Tech South, along with 20 different marketplaces. Take a look through the different regions and map out your route.
Unsure if you’ll want to hit the show floor? You may want to think again! In past years the CES show floor is where 4K TVs, drones, and robots have made their debuts so you can be sure that you’ll see the newest tech when you walk through the event.
3. Create a community with networking
With over 170,000 attendees it’s a safe bet that some of your peers, colleagues, and competitors will be attending this show. Not only are the conference tracks and show floor an important part of CES but many companies also host meeting suites and receptions. A lot of the value of attending CES comes from the many networking opportunities.
