TechCrunch reported today that Google announced a new licensing deal with Novartis to introduce "smart" contact lenses that can help diabetics track their blood glucose levels.
"While most major tech companies are entering into the health market in some way, this partnership by Google represents a completely different approach to the potential opportunity," wrote TechCrunch's Darrell Etherington.
Google announced its new "Works with Nest" developer program yesterday (June 23), which, according to the company "makes it possible for your Nest devices to securely interact with the things you already use every day, both inside and outside of your home."
Google's virtual assistant, Google Now, wants to help you remember what it is you were shopping for online and where you can get it in store. Google's search app now offers location-based reminders to notify you when you are near a retailer offering an item you had previously searched for.
