More specifically, Kosner presents Clark -- with his recent conference presentation called "Seven Deadly Mobile Myths" -- as an opponent to usability expert Jakob Nielsen.

In this article, we'll examine a few recurring principles of (invented) place design that can easily be applied to the design process of almost any space, including retail ones.  After all, if Disney Imagineers use them, why shouldn't we?

These are more techniques than a magic recipe for creating a succesful place. Still, a "magic recipe" is required -- it comes from the brand and character of the store, and it needs to be clearly defined beforehand.

Earlier today, my colleagues and I watched Nokia's video for its latest concept phone, the GEM (below). The company is calling the phone a "21st century mobile jewel," because its entire surface (like a precious stone) is a touch-sensitive screen.

Daily Dose of iQ: Steve Jobs, a Design Visionary

After learning of the passing of Steve Jobs yesterday, just 56, I felt immensely saddened by his death. However, I also couldn't help but feel somewhat perplexed by my own feelings of loss for this iconic man that I'd never met. Perhaps it's more than losing the man Steve Jobs -- it's the loss of the visionary, the leader and the innovator that is Steve Jobs.
