Post-CTIA Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Effort: Giving Back to New Orleans

A quick break to take a photo.

The day after CTIA 2012, iQmetrix -- along with client Connectivity Source and partners ProtectCell and Phobio -- donated money and volunteered time to Habitat for Humanity, to help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The following is a blog post written by Kelly Markewich, iQmetrix Enterprise Account Manager, about his experience volunteering that day.

We are group of employees at iQmetrix who want to get the E going in our SLICCE (Speed, Lifestyle, Innovation, Character, Community and Environment)!

The Environment, and being good stewards of the environment, is one of iQmetrix’s core values. We want to get really proactive with a team approach.

Employees from our four different offices have joined up and are working together to implement a variety of initiatives, such as:

iQmetrix Movember Wrap Up!

iQ Movember

A great big thanks to everyone who's donated, helped out, and otherwise contributed to Movember this year. I want to especially thank Sean Anderson, Dustin Veitch, Jonathan Hack, Brad Rhodes, David Harms, Stephen Gaudet, Will Hunt, Tristan Moss, Steve Dawson, Allan Pulga, Alen Puaca, Thu Tran, and Cole Ecklund (and anyone else I'm forgetting) for going above and beyond the call of duty to help make Movember 2011 a great success.

This year has seen the most participation from iQmetrix to date. Here are a few numbers for ya:

Movember Week 3 at iQmetrix

Movember Week 3 will be our busiest yet, with several events scheduled this week.  The iQmetrix Moustache Alliance is currently sitting at $1908 total collected for Movember, a big thank you to everyone who's donated and collected money so far.

This week we have scheduled:

iQmetrix Supports 'We Day' in Vancouver and Winnipeg

iQmetrix was a proud Silver Sponsor of We Day Vancouver, held on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Rogers Arena. iQmetrix staff volunteered at We Day Vancouver as well as at We Day Winnipeg, Nov. 23, helping out with the Honored Guest and Seating Teams.

Question: What are Our Core Values? Answer: SLICCE

Our company is growing. As we are continually hiring, we have developed a special orientation program for new employees. Part of this program involves a description of our core values (Speed and Agility, Lifestyle, Innovation, Character, Community and Environment) represented by the acronym SLICCE.

iQmetrix Authentic Leadership

iQmetrix Authentic Leadership

iQmetrix just finished up a company-wide training program available to all employees. It was called Authentic Leadership. It consisted of a one-day session, customized for iQmetrix and delivered by Bob Hornsberger of Whole Person Training & Consulting of Regina. Over 140 employees in four offices (and a few visitors from our satellite locations) took the training. Perhaps we shouldn’t say “finished,” though. We should say “started.” It felt more like a beginning.

My First Trip to Regina... Pizza

If you're like most of the locals working at the iQmetrix Vancouver office, you've probably heard the stories from all the Regina peeps of the delicious and legendary PIZZA that resides in their hometown. Something about the crust being sweeter, thicker, and fluffier? The toppings are apparently incredible, the sauce is just "different," and when you ask for specifics, the response that you always seem to get is, "You just gotta try it."

So, when I made my first trip out to Regina for some XQ User Testing, you can imagine what the first thing on my mind was: PIZZA!

The Qi Zone: A fun, new video produced by iQ employees

iQ culture is important. Very important. We know it’s fundamental to our corporate success and, more importantly, to make work fun.

While we’re not really in the movie business, we haven’t bothered telling Thu Tran, Cody Lee and our many other talented employees.

As a result, our dynamic, flexible and passionate iQers keep outdoing themselves with cool stuff like this video. It’s hard to describe the culture of iQmetrix. Sometimes you’ve just got to see it in action:
