What's New in the Q: Week of Nov. 9

Charlotte
Thanks again to the support from the iQ sponsorship committee, 8 of the ladies from the Charlotte office were able to participate in Tastes of Habitat Women’s Build. The event supports the Our Towns Habitat for Humanity Women’s build where women build homes for single moms and their families. This event was funding the 9th house to be built. We enjoyed many incredible dishes prepared by local restaurants and beverages from local breweries and wineries. To raise funds, there were ticket sales for giveways, a silent auction, as well as a live auction. All food, drink and auction items were donated and all the live auction pieces were items repurposed from the Restore (donated furnishings). New to the fundraising event this year, we were able to purchase items to help build the home such as the nails, shingles, doors, windows, etc. It is such a worthy cause and we had fun bidding and purchasing items for the house! The ladies are now planning to volunteer on a build -- how empowering!

What's New in the Q: Week of Oct. 26

Winnipeg
iQWinnipeg has had a busy few weeks of giving back, proving that we aren’t just talk when it comes to helping out our local community! A group of 15 iQers headed out to the local Habitat build site on Oct. 19. We spent the day finishing up some sheds for the families living in the homes we worked on last year. We learned new skills like siding and fascia installation, and one team even installed a door. We managed to complete eight sheds, and nearly finished two others. We lucked out with some gorgeous October weather (see above photo) and are already looking forwards to next year's build!

What's New in the Q: Week of Sept. 21 | iQmetrix

Regina

On Friday, Sept. 11, iQmetrix participated in the 8th Annual Juke Box Mania. The annual event is hosted by Family Service Regina, a community-based agency assisting local families through counselling, education, support services and advocacy within a context of systemic change.

Juke Box Mania, an evening of music trivia in a game show-type format, is FSR’s primary fundraising event, allowing them to continue to provide programming and support services to the community throughout the year. iQmetrix is not only an Executive Producer co-sponsor of the event, we also had many volunteers who helped out in the planning and delivery of the event. A number of iQers competed in the event as well (pictured above). It was a great success: 369 participants (up from 235 last year) helped raise an amazing $34,000 for FSR.
