What's New in the Q: Week of June 22

By People and Culture Jun 26, 2015

At iQ Vancouver, we are continuously innovating ways to improve experiences! Our SparkLab team is working together (pictured above) to test new ideas by installing beacons throughout the office, giving users the tools to have tangible access to information in their present location.

If you’ve ever had a chance to pop by the Vancouver office, you know you will be greeted at the elevator by some funky tunes. SparkLab has also implemented a new system (shown right) to change the music genre via smartphone at any time!

iQ Green Team
The iQ Green Team was formed back in 2012 and was pretty busy for the first two years, but last year, they got a bit off course. SO... they want to get the E in SLICCE going again and invite you all to join in.

Being good stewards of the environment is one of iQmetrix’s core values, and we really want to show our commitment with a fun, proactive, team approach. Example initiatives include: improving recycling at work/home, advertising for local green events, participating in larger green events (e.g. Earth Hour and Earth Week), writing articles and providing tips for little things we can all do to impact the environment. Contact Sarah Tuff, Alexander James or Mary Wilkins, if you'd like to join the team.

The Davidson office started meeting Tuesday mornings for “Clambakes” about two years ago.  It’s an informal meetup where business is discussed, games are played, new things are learned.  We’ve played kickball, built containers to drop golf balls into, learned stress relieving stretches, have done some yoga, untangled ourselves and most recently Mike taught us to juggle.

Our Regina iQcumbers have come out of the gates running in the 2015 slo-pitch season! The team's record to date: 8 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie.

The best batting average so far goes to Kelly Jardine (.846); Allan Pulga leads the team with 4 home runs and Tanya Floer leads with 5 pitching wins.

And now for your viewing enjoyment… a picture of Kevin Wong (left) rocking that stunning ‘strikeout’ dress he loves to wear so much!

iQ Winnipeg participated in the Heart & Stroke Foundation's BIG BIKE! It was a rainy Friday afternoon, but we made the best of it (see below photo). We all got matching ponchos and managed to raise a grand total of $2,716.

On Father’s Day, a group of 10 iQers participated in the Manitoba Marathon Relay (9 of whom are shown below). Both teams did awesome: The iQuickes finished with a time of 4:00:16 and team 404 Breath Not Found finished with a time of 4:13:27!
