The Gaylord Texan Hotel Welcomes Central Texas Verizon Agents

Nov 15, 2011 — Ken Burdon

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of staying at any Gaylord property knows what we mean by a luxurious experience, and such was the case recently as Verizon Agents were treated to some down home hospitality deep in the heart of Texas. Indirect agents from the Central Texas region were hosted by Verizon for a two-day golf tournament and meetings.

Verizon Wireless remains the largest wireless carrier in the country with nearly 110 million subscribers nationwide and their presence in the Central Texas market does not go unnoticed. iQmetrix was a proud sponsor of the event where more than 1-- agents were present to take part in the festivities.

iQmetrix’s XQ Interactive Retail platform is always a huge discussion point at these meetings.

XQ enhances the customer experience in addition to adding tremendous value to the indirect channel by way of reduced walk-outs and increased attachment ratios to mention a few. The ability to have vivid product images prompt customers at the point of sale was especially interesting to manufacturers whose marketing budgets are designed to do just that.

“XQ is exactly what every retail environment will have in the very near future,” said one Verizon Agent. "The fact that iQmetrix maintains all the data for me is a no brainer. Sign me up,” he added.

But not all agents were as ready to sign up immediately. Although everyone loves the concept, “some will still require a bit of “specialized urging," according to iQmetrix Regional Sales Manager Michael Thompson. “There is a very real return on investment and huge value proposition. It’s my job to present that in a manner that makes sense to the guy who signs the check.”

Michael Thompson, Regional Sales Manager for iQmetrix, gives one of Verizon’s Indirect Account Managers a firsthand look at XQ Interactive Retail.

Preparations continue for the main event.

Carl Hugo, District Manager for Verizon Wireless, talks with iQcustomers Rene Chavarria, principal owner of Mobile Destination and one of his district managers, Les Bailey.
